Creative Grooming Shows of Poodle Transformations

Posted on August 26, 2009 by: WayCoolDogs

The online Daily Mail has outdone themselves with the photography of  Ren Netherland, a professional photographer who has traveled thousands of  miles to attend top dog Poodle Creative Grooming Shows across the United States.

Considered a “canine fancy dress contest” (quote by the Daily Mail reporter) the groomers take as much as two hours or more to transform their pets to some of the most spectacular subject matters in the world. I personally have never heard of such things, but wait until you see them…..

Ren Netherland prefers to work with animals over people just about any day. Netherland learned photography skills in the Navy and then worked in a photo lab in Norfolk, Virginia. “I started out like a lot of photographers shooting weddings, portraits, families and parties. One weekend I did a big show in a mall. I had to put together a huge display and I was hoping not only to get business, but to also sell some of the photographs. I didn’t sell a thing. But people kept coming up asking me to photograph their pets. I decided I was on to something. So I opened my firststudio and right there decided to name it Animal Photography.” (Credit: BABM))
