Dogs who are on welfare
Posted on April 16, 2010 by: WayCoolDogs
This morning I went to sign all my dogs up for welfare at our country’s local Health & Human Services. Of course, I had to stand in line with my dogs — and what a line it was! At first the lady in charge said, “Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare”.
However, I very carefully explained to the woman why I felt they would qualify, because she was having a hard time understanding my English.

- My dogs are unemployed.
- My dogs refuse to go back to where they came from.
- My dogs are lazy and I cannot get them off the couch.
- My dogs cannot speak English.
- My dogs have no idea who their father is, and sometimes their mother!
- My dogs would be legally discriminated against by using any of the above facts against them, even if it was true, to prevent them from receiving a welfare check.
For eleven years now my dogs have expected me to feed them when I couldn’t even feed myself, provide them with adequate housing while my own is falling apart and on the verge of being demolished, and provide them with medical care when I cannot afford my own heart and diabetic medicine. But worst of all, they expect ME to feel guilty because they are dogs!!!
Their checks will arrive Friday. Hallelujah! I just love living in America!
