Today is our 1st year anniversary of Way Cool Dogs—began with tongue in cheek—and it has been a growing year in many ways.  Our first day showed 17 viewers….and we were absolutely thrilled!!! But after a year, we are placing 402,057 in the Alexa Traffic Rank while our top ranking country is India with 55,726 and the United States at 184,773. We are not in the number #1 position, but getting closer. We have achieved 150,223 new viewers this year with 177,623 page views. And we are absolutely thrilled!

None of this data is important unless  you realize that when we started out we were in the 3 million range globally and could barely make 3 cents every other day on Adsense. If our next year sees the growth we have accomplished this year…well, the dogs will have a story to tell! We want to thank everyone for their kindness and their good wishes…not one day could have been accomplished without any of you.

I wish to give a special thanks to three people who have made this exciting journey of the blog possible. One is Marita, the “business end” of this website. This would NEVER have been achievable without her knowledge and expertise. You are a gem! I also wish to thank my best friend Sandy and my brother Steve for keeping this running on a daily basis. Sandy kept my going with the new ideas every day and Steve has been my proofer and editor who has had to come on board out of sheer necessity.  (….how in the world did you spell hte?)

It’s raining but not snowing here as a way to celebrate, and I have a big dinner to go to this Sunday with my kids. My son Monty is an excellent cook and his four children are grown, plus we haven’t gotten together for awhile…. so it will be fun to be around two-legged people for awhile (don’t tell our dogs). My youngest boy Lee and Nicole will be leaving for Texas this coming Tuesday to return to work in the wind turbine field after a winter layout, and my middle boy Micky is heading back to work after a long winter also. So things are doing good and mom doesn’t have to worry as much about her “little children”.

It’s been a year of ups and down, ins and outs…but threw it all, we have met some of the most wonderful people who have sent in articles, photographs, guest posts, and lots of comments. We have looked back over the year and chose our top four articles and your favorites.  Here is a recap of the “biggies” that drew your attention. Happy memory lane, everyone….
