I want a shelter puppy for Christmas
Only a homeless shelter puppy will do
Don’t want a doll, no dinky Tinker Toy
I want a shelter puppy to play with and enjoy
I want a shelter puppy for Christmas
I don’t think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won’t have to use our dirty chimney flue
Just bring him through the front door,
that’s the easy thing to do
I can see me now on Christmas morning,
creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise
when I open up my eyes
to see a little shelter puppy standing there!
I want a shelter puppy for Christmas
Only a little shelter puppy will do
No pet store dogs, no quality breeder pups
I only like shelter puppies
And shelter puppies like me too
Mom says the shelter dog would eat me up, but then
Way Cool Dogs says shelter puppies need a home!
There’s lots of room for him in my big bedroom
I’d feed him, wash him, and pet him all the time…

We think that shelter and found dogs are the best! Betsy was a shelter dog and we found Norman wondering the streets! They are the best dogs in the world.
