Miracle Dog Responsible for Patrick’s Law

“Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living creatures, man himself will not find peace.” ~ by Albert Schweitzer

Located in a New Jersey trash bin of a 22-story building,  a tiny, dehydrated and emaciated pit bull mix was found wrapped in a plastic trash bag right before St. Patrick’s Day — within hours of death. According to the rescuer, it looked as if he had been placed in the bag and tossed down the trash chute. The story hit the Internet within hours, with animal activist groups getting involved immediately.

Patrick's Law

Please forward Patrick's storys, for the Patrick's Law website against dog and animal abuse.

According to the American Humane Society, the unwanted pup had been starved to the point of death before being tossed into the garbage chute. His weight was under 20 pounds, which was half what a pit bull his age should have been. His head looked too big and his ribs were the prominent features of his lifeless body. He was taken to the Garden State Veterinary where specialists immediately gave him a blood transfusion, in addition to fluids and a warm blanket to wrap around the tiny body. Even as they gave him all the TLC he had never experienced before, they were doubtful the pup would survive. But the little puppy received hundreds of prayers coming from those who had heard his story . He hung on throughout St. Patrick’s Day, much to the vet’s surprise … and became Patrick, the miracle puppy, who chose to live.

Beginning of “Patrick’s Law”

Patrick -- getting better day by day

The woman responsible for the little pit bull’s horrific abuse is 28-year old Kisha Curis, charged on Friday, March 25, 2011, with two counts of abandonment and two counts of failure to provide proper sustenance. According to NBC LA, she “… could be sentenced to a maximum six months in jail and a $1,000 fine…” But a Burbank, CA, woman decided this was not a harsh enough sentence for animal abuse perpetrators. She chose to enhance and change the law, using “Patrick’s Law” as the tool. In one day, Patrick’s Facebook page had over 15,000 LIKES from caring animal lovers.

On a daily basis, the websites show how Patrick is slowly surviving …. with his ability to have a tiny bowel movement on his own a celebrated thing, due to the starvation and emaciated state of his physical body. Wolf’s efforts are a nationwide grassroots for stronger federal and state legislation against animal abusers — including their enforcement, prosecution and incarceration. She is working on “Patrick’s Law” chapters in every state in the nation to move the media and .encourage officials to improve on animal protection. Hopefully, it will work Meet Mr. Patrick, slowly becoming the country’s success story… for all animal abuse.

Update: Join Cory Booker & Causes to build an animal shelter in honor of Patrick Recently a heinous incident of animal cruelty took place in Newark, NJ and shocked the world. On March 16th, the day before St. Patrick’s Day, a 1-year-old pit bull was found inside a trash bag, starved and near death after having been thrown down a trash chute. Please donate to Mayor Booker’s birthday wish at Causes. Use Give a Minute to earn for this cause & spread the word. Thank you, Nancy

UPDATE!!  UPDATE!!

We have received an email from a concerned individual about the legitimacy of certain websites writing about Patrick’s Law. If you feel the same way, please let us know in the comments due to the amount of controversary over the subject.

I truly wish that everyone was aware of Mrs Wolfs real intentions. She has not only banned pages, stopped petitions and called the followers that only wanted to help and questioned some things IDIOTS, and that they were on her S*#@%List..All because she used the name Patrick’s Law First…. She did not know the court date of Keisha Curtis, she does not have updates on him. She stated herself that she was not following his story that she has bigger things to do in the big picture. Please don’t boast about Mrs Wolf, she had not done anything but say WAIT for me to get MY ducks in a row..She is using him to get her name out there, and to get something out of this. Unfortunately I am not the only one who has seen this of feels this way.

I agree!! There were many state pages and Ms Wolf had them all shut down. Many changed their names before she had them closed. It is very sad when ego plays a part of a cause. This is about Patrick and all the other ‘Patrick’s’ out there, not one person or group. Shame on her!

I also had the unfortunate displeasure of witnessing Ms. Wolf’s atrocious behavior on Facebook. She bullied, belittled and berated innocent people who were doing nothing but spreading the word about Patrick. Her threats, name calling and harassment throughout the day were immature at the least. She deleted posts and banned people left and right if they had any question about her motives for her “Patrick’s Law” page or if they disagreed with her for any reason. She should be ashamed of herself for exploiting Patrick for your own personal selfish needs. Her need to be in control of everything and in the limelight is quite sad. IT IS NOT ABOUT RACHEL WOLF!!! She has proven that she cannot conduct herself in an appropriate manner when under pressure. I myself, cannot see her accomplishing anything with “Patrick’s Law.” She is too focused on herself….again, very sad.

I also have been shut down and reported R Wolf. She can not stop me unless she kills me with her voice. I am for the animals not for someone to sing her own praises. She is a menance. I will never listen to her or go see her she is all about self promotion not helping animals

I was involved in the almost six hour spiral of embarassment of Rachel Wolf by her own actions. This woman is crazy. She started this page, or so we thought for one reason and turned out to be chastizing the very people who followed her on a daily basis. I believe she was becoming unglued. She started deleting posts by people who had the audacity of voicing their opinions about her disturbing behavior. It’s such a shame that someone so disturbed is still walking among us. I’m so glad that she has been exposed for what she is…a scary nutcase.
