Natural Dog Training

Naturally training the family dog will bring many years of respect for each other and lots of fun in the process. In fact, natural dog training should be an enjoyable part of the dog’s day, something they are eager to do with you. If not, then the training is being approached wrong, with training steps being pushed too hard, too big of steps, and too harsh of methods. We went out to find some dog training photos that are visual stimulants for what reaches the mind of a dog and what doesn’t. See how they reach your mind – and what doesn’t!

Believe it or not, the best trainer for a young puppy is a well-trained mother dog or a well-thought of mentor dog and its adoring younger dog by its side. Once that older dog is trained naturally and leads the way, any other dog in the home will follow them all the time – and even a cat or two. I have seen it go the other way, but usually only if the older dog is not trained as thoroughly as their owner thinks they are.

When we think of natural dog training, we think of young puppies chewing on our shoes, peeing on the rugs, and running rough-shod through the house. What we don’t think of is how young they are, how delicate their emotions are, and what little can be done to hurt their feelings – sometimes scarring them into adulthood. They are no different than working with a 2-year old child with small steps leading into big steps. At this young age, neither the puppy or the child knows what they are doing wrong. Neither does an old dog who comes into the home through an adoption agency, unlucky enough to have never been training in its younger years. The first thing to do is love them and earn their trust, convincing them they will never be hurt again. After that, they will be at your side to do what you want done – with you as the leader moving from one step to another. Gently and only when the prior step is comfortably done and acceptable to both the dog and owner.

Dogs and puppies who are not trained are little trouble makers and can cause lots of damage. They bite the children or other pets, cost a lot of money in dog fines, destroy the house,  tear up the neighbors year or spend the mornings pooping in it,  and may even run away. Without the proper ID they will never return….and a dog who doesn’t mind well is usually never missed much. A little time spent training a dog will teach him to respect you, as his alpha owner.
