PET ONLY “Pet Airways” Shipping Airline for $149-$299 Oneway

Posted on July 28, 2009 by: WayCoolDogs

For anyone who has struggled with the impossible rules and regulations of trying to get a 5-pound puppy or adult dog flown from one state to another with quality care at an affordable rate, the development of an airline which places pets ahead of humans is more than welcome. And a pet airline which is comparable in prices and opposite to routine airlines which shipped a limited amount of pets and animals, severe weather restrictions, and shipping precious live passengers in the cargo hold with the luggage is definitely welcome….and rare.

Pet Airways was started by two individuals who had struggled with shipping their pet Jack Russel terrier, Zoe,  in a cargo hole. The only difference with Alysa Binder and Dan Wiesel was they were so fed up their started their own airlines with pets as their exclusive customers, feeling that all owners of animals and pets needed a better way to ship. Beginning this decision in 2005, they personally designed a fleet of five pet-flying planes to accommodate four-legged customers that would deal with FAA regulations and match with airport schedules. Presently, all five airlines are booked two to three months in advance, so prepare you shipping plans early if possible!

PET AIRWAYS  SHIPPING RULES

  • Pets fly in the main cabin area, not the cargo hold
  • Trained Pet Attendant is always monitoring the animals and pets
  • Fresh and cool water is supplied at all times
  • Pet carriers are provided FREE of charge
  • Delays always focus on the quality of animal care to avoid owner and pet stress
  • Peace of mind for pet owners is always guaranteed
  • No hot or cold weather restrictions. Pets always fly!

SERVICES PROVIDED BY PET AIRWAYS

Cities that are being serviced by Pet Airways for first-class pets are New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Denver, and Los Angeles.  Pets should be brought to the Pet Lounge two hours before shipping, but if you want to leave them overnight as long as 72 hours before boarding.  Pet Airways has a Paws Lodge provided for delays or boarding temporarily.

Once on board, for pet owners who do not have their own kennels, they are provided free of charge for shipping. The pets fly on the main flying area, not the cargo, with specialized care provided by a pet attendant who checks every 15 minutes on each animal. Water is provided all the time. Once landed, the pets will receive a potty break before going to the Pet Lounge for pickup. If your planned departure or arrival time is expected to change by more than 15 minutes, you will receive an automated phone and email message, with tracking provided once in the air.

FEEDING PETS ONBOARD PET AIRWAYS

Pet owners are allowed to bring their pet’s favorite food on-board for the trip. Otherwise, it will be provided. For animals who are ill and refuse to eat when in air or during delays, a variety of food will be used to tempt the appetite.

Animals who require special diets, pre-bagging by the pet owner in separate bags with the pet’s name and owner’s name will be provided for that pet. Direction need to be included (the amount fed and times fed).

The main considerations for shipping and delays are:

  • Potty breaks
  • Food and water time
  • Weather delays (can’t control Mother Nature)
  • Traffic or mechanical delays (just like you have with your car)
  • No shipping between midnight and dawn
  • Overnight stays from coast to coast are in Chicago at the Pet Lounge, compliments of Pet Airways, for drinks, food, potty breaks, and playtime.
