Shelter dogs supported by U.S. Postal Service stamps

Posted on June 14, 2010 by: WayCoolDogs

Raising the awareness of the need to adopt shelter dogs, the U.S. Postal Service has issued ten new 44-cent stamp designs for Animal Rescue: Adopt a Shelter Pet. The entire panel of #576040 20 44-cent stamps can also be purchased for $8.80 each.

Designed by Derry Noyes of Washington, DC, the animals on the stamps were photographed by Sally Anderson-Bruce near her home in New Milford, Connecticut. The animal in each stamp had been homeless at one time, with all adopted out but one when the photographs were taken.

The information I have found says the U.S. Postal Service is simply raising awareness of the need to adopt shelter dogs. The US Humane Society was not mentioned as receiving any monies.

Do you have any sets of 576094 – 10 adopt a shelter animal – notecards? I am special events chair for Gwinnett Humane Society and need to want to use these as thank you cards to people and organizations that have helped us. Please let me know either way. Thank you very much.
